HUD ML 2022-11 updates Handbook 4000.1 sections II.A.1.a.i(A)(1)(b), II.A.1.a.iii(B)(6), II.A.1.a.iii(B)(10), III.A.2.l.ii(D)(1)(c), and III.A.2.r.iii(A)(1) to revise the initial FHA appraisal validity period from 120 to 180 days and extend the appraisal update validity period to one year from the effective date of the initial appraisal.

HUD ML 2022-11 — Initial Appraisal Validity (II.A.1.a.i(A)(1)(b)(i))

The initial appraisal validity period is 180 Days from the effective date of the appraisal report (see Ordering Appraisals (II.A.1.a.iii(B)(6)).

HUD ML 2022-11 — Appraisal Update (II.A.1.a.i(A)(1)(b)(ii))

Where the initial appraisal is updated, the updated appraisal is valid for one year after the effective date of the initial appraisal report that is being updated.
