This section contains information related to: ■ Assisting Freddie Mac’s investigation of Title Defects ■ Reimbursement of Title Defect-related expenses and costs (a) Assisting Freddie Mac’s investigation of Title Defects Servicer must assist Freddie Mac’s investigation and, when required by the Lender Title Assessment Selling Provision, cure of the Title Defect, possibly in conjunction with Responsible Parties, if applicable, including, but not limited to, providing additional information as requested; notifying Responsible Parties of the Title Defect, if applicable; and engaging counsel to assess and take legal action, if necessary. (b) Reimbursement of Title Defect-related expenses and costs Unless the Servicer is liable for the Title Defect, expenses incurred in connection with the Title Defect must be submitted to PAID (Payments Automated Intelligent and Dynamic) using the following expense codes: ■ 300009 - Advantage Title Curative - All non-recoverable expenses incurred in connection with investigation, curative work and similar expenses, but not the expense of settling litigation or paying a third party to release a claim ■ 300010 - Advantage Title Settlement - The non-recoverable expense of settling litigation or paying a third party to release a claim
